Grading that feeds progress
Grading in PaperTim is not a gradebook you maintain. It's a two-minute review that keeps the whole system honest: the year map, the mastery bars and Tim's next suggestions all run on it.

Upload one photo or several: the finished pages sit on the left, the answer key on the right, item by item. Mark right, wrong or partial; add a note where it matters.
Mastery updates itself
Each graded item feeds the objective it practised. Mastery moves gradually (one great sheet raises it, one rough morning doesn't wreck it), and every child's bars show the level actually demonstrated on paper.
Regrade without fear
Made a marking mistake? Regrade the task: the new grade lands as new evidence, and mastery recalculates. Nothing is ever silently overwritten.

Do I have to grade everything?
No. Grade the gradable kinds (worksheets, quizzes, tests) when you want the progress recorded. Colouring pages, cutting work and other learning-only tasks are deliberately outside grading; finishing them is the point.
Does the AI grade my child's work?
No. You grade against a key Tim already wrote. PaperTim does the arithmetic, the record-keeping and the mastery math; the judgement stays yours.
What happens to the photos?
They're stored privately for your grading view and never used for anything else. They are never sent to the AI, and children's photos are never on any profile.
Can I grade partially right answers?
Yes: right, wrong or partial per item, plus parent-scored items for work that doesn't fit a key, like a story read aloud. Your marks decide the score; the score feeds mastery.
What if I disagree with a grade later?
Regrade the task. The new grade is added as fresh evidence and mastery recalculates. Nothing is overwritten or lost.
